About The Done Right Guarantee®

The Done Right Directory® is committed to making sure that the job you need done is done right! That's why we offer the Done Right Guarantee®. If you have already registered for the Done Right Guarantee and wish to apply for action under the guarantee, please click here.

The Done Right Guarantee covers services performed by our approved Service Providers (hereafter "Service Providers" our "Done Right Service Providers") displaying the Done Right Guarantee logo:

Please note that many Service Providers listed in the Done Right Directory (in its various forms online and in print) do not display the Done Right Guarantee logo. This does not mean that they are sub-par. Rest assured, all Service Providers listed in the Done Right Directory have been checked and re-checked and checked again. But it does mean that the "un-guaranteed" Service Providers are either:

  1. In a "probationary period" where we are gathering more feedback from so-called Super Customers (picky trade pros like Realtors®, civil engineers and home inspectors) before we let them display the Done Right Guarantee logo; or,
  2. They offer services in categories where a straightforward, meaningful consumer guarantee is difficult to make. Examples of such categories include, but are not limited to, Realtors®, home appraisers and mortgage lenders.

In plain English, the Done Right Guarantee ensures that the work you asked the Done Right Service Providers to do was, in fact, done right – done the way you and the Service Provider agreed it should be done. If the work you contracted for was not done right, we'll try to facilitate a good outcome for you and the Service Provider (which might include a return visit by the Service Provider), and if we can't do that, we'll either find and pay for another Service Provider to do the work right or, at our option, reimburse you up to $1,000 for money you paid the Service Provider for work that was not done right. Having work not done right can be aggravating and waste your time, which is why we try to weed out the "bad apples," but the Done Right Guarantee does not cover such unfortunate inconveniences. The Done Right Guarantee also does not cover any expenses other than what you paid to the Service Provider.

To qualify for the benefits of The Done Right Guarantee you must:

  1. Register for the Done Right Guarantee at least one day before the work you had performed took place. Click here to register for the Done Right Guarantee;
  2. Be able to prove that you contacted the Done Right Service Provider through the Done Right Directory (online or in print) within 30 days of the date when the work was performed. This "proof" is accomplished by listing one or more phone numbers that you may have called from to contact the Service Provider you selected. You supply these phone numbers – typically your home and/or cell phone numbers – as part of the process of registering for the Done Right Guarantee. (We will have a record of most of the phone numbers that have dialed our Service Providers, but if you dial a Done Right Service Provider from an office, we may not have the number and you may not be eligible for the guarantee. It is therefore recommended that you call Done Right Service Providers from a phone that is located at, or is billed to, the address where the work is to be done and, at the very minimum, you supply such a number as part of your registration);
  3. Have a written statement from the Service Provider outlining the nature of the work for which you contracted; and
  4. Contact us (by phone or through this web form) to express your dissatisfaction with the work performed by a Done Right Service Provider within twenty (20) days of the job's completion.

Please note that the Done Right Guarantee will not apply to any of the following: (i) equipment, materials, machinery or appliances supplied or used by the Done Right Guaranteed Service Provider (though there may be separate warranties/guarantees from manufacturers and/or the Service Provider's own company that apply); (ii) work performed by the Done Right Service Provider outside of what was contracted for in the statement of work or agreement between you and the Done Right Service Provider; (iii) services provided by Service Providers listed in the Done Right Directory, but not covered by the Done Right Guarantee (i.e., not displaying the Done Right Guarantee logo at the time the work was performed); and (iv) cases where we, in our sole discretion, deem the customer's claim to be invalid, fabricated, embellished, frivolous, fraudulent or otherwise without commercial merit.

All Done Right Service Providers are fully vetted by our proprietary Done Right Pre-screened and Relentlessly Reviewed Processes. And all the Done Right Service Providers displaying the Done Right Guaranteed logo have explicitly agreed to abide by the high standards set forth by us, including making sure you are completely satisfied with the job(s) you contract with them to perform. We are confident you will be able to work out any differences you may have with one of our Guaranteed Service Providers without our direct involvement, but if you can't, let us know, and we will do our very best to make sure you're fully satisfied.

There are two ways to let us know about any unresolved issues you have with a Done Right Service Provider:

  1. By calling 1-800-494-6005 and selecting option 2, or,
  2. By clicking here to fill out our online web form.

Once you contact us, one of our Customer Care Representatives may ask you for all documentation generated in connection with your dealings with the Done Right Service Provider. Please have a copy of the statement of work/agreement you entered in to with the Service Provider, any paid receipt/cancelled check and any other relevant documentation generated by you or the Done Right Service Provider in the course of your unsatisfactory dealings. We will supply you with a fax number and/or street address where you can send the needed copies once your initial claim has been received. Please note that we will most likely contact the Done Right Service Provider to seek their feedback regarding the unresolved, unsatisfactory transaction. This helps you, your fellow consumers and us by identifying potential "bad apple" Service Providers who simply do not belong in the Done Right Directory.

If your initial claim meets the basic Done Right Guarantee qualifications – and you are unable to resolve things directly with the Done Right Service Provider – we will act as a neutral party to help facilitate an amicable solution to the unresolved issues (which might include a return visit by the Service Provider). Our allegiance is to both you and the Done Right Service Providers: our sole aim is to make sure the work is done right. Although we will try our best to help resolve problems, we cannot be held liable or responsible if an acceptable resolution between you and the Done Right Service Provider is not reached.

When the processes outlined above are exhausted – if you and the Done Right Service Provider have not been able to reach an acceptable resolution – we may, in our sole discretion, elect to remedy the situation in one of two ways:

  1. Have your job done by another Done Right Service Provider; or,
  2. Reimburse you for your out-of-pocket expenses, in an amount not to exceed $1,000.

If we choose to refer your job to another Done Right Service Provider, you agree to cooperate with the appointed Done Right Service Provider. Such cooperation includes, without limitation, allowing the Done Right Service Provider appropriate access to your home or property and furnishing the Done Right Service Provider with all the necessary information needed to provide us with a qualified opinion as to the nature and extent of the unresolved issues and what it will take to do the job right.

If you have followed the process outlined above, Done Right may decide to do one of two things: (i) reimburse you up to the maximum Done Right Guarantee amount of $1,000 cash for the work that was done wrong, or, (ii) have another Done Right Service Provider fix the services in dispute, in which case Done Right will pay the appointed Done Right Service Provider directly. Done Right may, in its sole and absolute discretion, determine whether it will remedy the situation by choosing another Done Right Guaranteed Service Professional or paying you up to the maximum Done Right Guarantee amount of $1,000 cash for the work that was done wrong.

We may, on a case-by-case basis, as the facts dictate, in our sole and absolute discretion, waive any or all of the elements needed to qualify for action under the Done Right Guarantee. Every episode of unsatisfactory service has its own story. And, every story has two sides. Our overriding mission is to quickly gather the facts, appeal to the Service Providers' and the consumers' sense of reason and fair play and get the job Done Right!
